Open category
A1/A3 and A2 describe operating conditions, not a universal permission.
The remote pilot competency, aircraft class or legacy status, proximity to uninvolved people, height and geographic zone all matter.
- register the operator when required
- complete the applicable official training and examination
- check UAS geographical zones before flight
- keep within the conditions of the relevant subcategory
Specific category
Operations outside Open conditions require a separate assessment.
Do not assume that an A2 certificate makes every urban, BVLOS or higher-risk mission legal. Depending on the operation, an authorisation, declaration or another recognised route may be required.
Romanian checks
AACR, ROMATSA and AEROFOTO address different parts of the operation.
The applicable checks depend on the place, airspace, imaging activity and mission. Use the current official sources and retain the evidence relevant to the planned flight.
